Historians Peter Onuf, David Blight and Annette Gordon-Reed discussed defining equality and the Declaration of Independence. They talked about the views and interpretations of W.E.B. DuBois, Frederick Douglass and Thomas Jefferson as well as the perspectives of 18th century African Americans and women. The American Antiquarian Society and The Freedom’s Way Heritage Association co-hosted this event on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Antiquarian Hall in Worcester, MA.
