David Blight, along with Edna Greene Medford (Howard University), Eric Foner (Columbia University) and Harold Holzer (moderator) will reflect on the triumphs and tribulations of the fragile years in the wake of the brutal Civil War, when northerners, southerners, former slaves, and slave owners alike struggled to find their place in a new America.
This event is part of the Bernard and Irene Schwartz Distinguished Speakers Series “Reconstruction at 150,” during which the guest speakers will continue to explore themes represented in the film Glory.
